Benjamin J. Cox is the former President of the Lake County Family Law section, and one of the members of the statewide committee that was responsible for the proposed major changes to Chapter 61 of the Florida Statutes. The new legislation replaced outdated philosophies of custody and parenting with specific, new language and definitions to guide attorneys regarding parenting plans and time sharing between parents and their minor children.
