Northeastern Berks Emergency Medical Service was founded on the basic concept of a true "Community Ambulance". As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, Northeastern Berks Emergency Medical Service (NEBEMS) would provide emergency medical service to more than 19,000 local residents, 10,000 university students, and the numerous visitors to the Kutztown, Maxatawny, Greenwich, and Albany areas. NEBEMS understands the commitment our local residents have for the emergency service agencies that are ready to serve them at a moment's notice, and therefore commits to providing exceptional pre-hospital care and transportation to everyone who resides or visits our local communities, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a nonprofit organization, you or your loved ones' emergencies are not a personal profit, but another commitment to improve our organization and our communities' awareness and preparedness of emergency medical situations.

NEBEMS was formed with a very high customer satisfaction standard in mind, providing exceptional emergency medical care and transportation services to anyone who has an unexpected medical problem or medical incident. At NEBEMS, we understand the importance of quality care when you or your loved ones are in need of emergency medical services and the major fear and desperation this may cause. We ensure you ahead of time that our staff will be certified and trained with the most current knowledge of medical care and have the access to state-of-the-art emergency medical equipment.

In order to maintain providing exceptional emergency medical care, NEBEMS also understands the importance of our fellow providers in our own service, the police service, and the fire service; therefore, NEBEMS is committed to participating and conducting interagency training and exchanging the ideas, beliefs, and policies with the different agencies. Only then can all our local agencies ensure the best for our residents and visitors. This is a key step in operational success with a single person or large scale operation.

At NEBEMS we recognize that times are changing, which is why we are pleased to introduce a facility that would also be capable of providing emergency medical training instruction and education. This is another step in which NEBEMS can reach out to the community and teach lifesaving skills and knowledge that could save a life. We ensure a commitment that our care does not just start when you call 911 or just stop at the emergency room doors - we are here for the community in more aspects than just one.

At NEBEMS, we understand that in order to provide exceptional service to our residents and visitors, our team must be exceptional. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, our Board of Directors will consist of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary whose primary objective is to ensure compliance with our financial obligations, emergency medical service regulations, federal and state regulations, and the organization's operations. The daily operations of the organization will be overseen by the Executive Director and a Paramedic Field Supervisor. In addition, our plan introduces an Administrative Secretary who will play a key role in maintaining the daily records of the organization. Our field staff will consist of Pennsylvania certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics, and Pre-Hospital Registered Nurses (PHRNs). As we progress into our future years of operation, we will monitor the need for additional supervisors and field personnel to ensure all needs are met.
